Jo is a textile artist working with fabric, paper, paint and stitch.  She joined South Bank Studios in December 2020, and is a member of York Textile Artists.

She has a passion for putting the text in to textile art and often incorporates carefully chosen words in to her work. The text is applied using a variety of methods including hand-stitching, machine-stitching, applique, mono-printing, laser-printing, stamp and stencil.

Jo enjoys using reclaimed and repurposed fabrics and papers - for environmental as well as aesthetic reasons. Her most recent work has involved explorations of quilting and patchwork techniques, bringing a contemporary perspective to a traditional art form.
