This popular workshop gives you the opportunity to design and create your very own textile artwork incorporating various forms of text with resident artist Jo Yeates. You’ll explore stamping, appliqué, backstitch, typing and handwriting on to fabric.  You’ll choose fabrics to build up a textile collage incorporating your words, adding embellishments and using a range of simple hand stitches. 

All you need to do is decide the words you want to use:  your own name, or the name of a loved one?  The name of your favourite place?  A word to inspire you?  Something wise your Nan used to say?  A phrase that makes you laugh? The choice is yours!

Jo’s workshops are relaxed, friendly, informal and suitable for all abilities.  Demonstrations, help and guidance will be given. 

The workshop costs £50, which includes all materials and equipment, plus tea, coffee and biscuits.
