Join two of our South Bank Studio artists at Burnby Hall Gardens this summer for a tutored session of outdoor painting.
Both fully qualified tutors - Donna Maria Taylor and Karen Winship are teaming together to offer a very special experience for you.
The emphasis for the day will be to paint directly from your surroundings. Easels will also be available for learners to use. The workshop will begin with an introduction to thumbnail sketches as an aid to developing a good composition and then through demonstrations and practical guidance learners will then go on to produce a finished painting based on a view of their choice.
By the end of the day learners will feel more confident about painting ‘en plein air’ (directly from life) and interpreting the scenes in front of them in their own way. Through practical and expert guidance from two tutors, attendees will truly engage with the world around them and begin to view the world through an artist’s eye. They will develop their observational skills and their confidence in painting outdoors.
This workshop is designed for artists of any ability who are interested in painting outside.
