Donna has worked in the arts for over 25 years.

As well as running out classes, one day workshops and art holidays (to Morocco, Andalusia and Tuscany) she also regularly gets involved in community art projects within the City of York and works on a freelance basis in professional theatre.

In the theatre world she has designed shows, painted scenery (she was scenic artist at the West Yorkshire Playhouse for a number of years) and made props / costumes for many companies including York Theatre Royal, West Yorkshire Playhouse / Leeds Playhouse, Oxford Playhouse, Shakespeare's Rose Theatre and York Minster Mystery Plays.

In recent years she has been developing her own art practice and now regularly exhibits either independently or as part of York Open Studios (2018-2026) and North Yorkshire Open Studios (from 2025).
